Ha all’attivo ben sette album.

Don Alder is a prize-winning acoustic fingerstyle guitarist and songwriter from Canada. As a winner of three major competitions, Worldwide Guitar Idol (London UK, 2011), Guitar Superstar (Los Angeles USA, 2010) and the International Fingerstyle Championships (Winfield USA, 2007), Don Alder has justifiably won himself a place among the best acoustic guitarists in the world and has grown in popularity, as shown by the numerous views (3.5 million) of his videos on YouTube and his appearance in top specialist magazines such as Guitar Player Magazine. Don is also known as one of the best players in the world of the harp guitar. His music, which is a unique combination of richly intertwined melodies and stories, has also been used in documentaries, company videos and films. Lyrical and memorable, his original compositions range from passionate moving moments to more energetic explosive stretches, or playful, witty comments.
For years he has regularly gone on long international tours taking in Canada, Europe, the USA and Asia, often being invited to important festivals where he has shared the stage with artists of international importance such as Tommy Emmanuel, Andy McKee, Mike Dawes, Muriel Anderson, and many others.
Don Alder is an endorser of various companies in the guitar world, including Yamaha Guitars, Riversong Baritone Guitars and Dyer Harp Guitars, while his collaboration with Greenfield Guitars led to the production of the acoustic Don Alder G4 model. He has released a good seven albums. The latest, "Armed & Dangerous" which came out in September 2015, proved highly successful with both the public and the critics, and in May of this year the Western Canadian Music Awards nominated him "Instrumental Artist of the Year" for this album.
His previous CD, "Not a Planet", from 2008, won him a nomination for "Instrumental Solo Artist of the Year" at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2009. In "Armed and Dangerous", which pays homage to the popular American TV series "Walking Dead", Don Alder blends his personal technical skill with his expressive and communicative capacity. The album contains a dozen tracks featuring a variety of styles and genres, including solo pieces, pieces for baritone and harp guitar and vocal numbers, two songs with a band, a duet and much more. The album sounds like a spontaneous improvised performance rather than a series of tracks that have been meticulously prepared and recorded, while his original musical approach has been captured with all the intensity of a live gig. Special guests on the album include the extraordinary bassist Billy Sheehan and the Italian fingerstyle guitarist Luca Francioso.
His concert at SBJ will be one of three Italian dates on his European tour that will take in, as well as Italy, Germany, Austria and Ireland.
